Neath Assembly Member Jeremy Miles faced questions from service users about the NHS and learned more about lung diseases, as he visited a local support group for those with lung conditions.
The Neath Valley Breathe Easy group is just one of the many support groups supported by the British Lung Foundation across the UK. The volunteer-led groups hear from a variety of speakers, from healthcare professionals who help them manage their condition to various other speakers in a social setting.
Jeremy Miles met members of his local group to hear more about their experiences with lung conditions, as well as taking part in a Q&A session with members.
Following his visit, Jeremy Miles AM said:
“It was great to meet the local Breathe Easy group and hearing about their experiences of living with lung conditions.
“Groups like these are a great example of how charities and the third sector can support our NHS in its work to keep people healthy. I’m grateful to the British Lung Foundation for the work they do to support those with lung conditions in my constituency and across the country.”
Joseph Carter, Head of British Lung Foundation Wales, added:
“I’d like to thank Jeremy Miles for taking the time to visit his local Breathe Easy group – they certainly enjoyed questioning him and learning more about his work.
“Our Breathe Easy groups are a great way to make new friends who know what you’re going through, and learn more about how to manage your lung condition.
“With groups across south Wales, you’re likely to find one near you. Just visit www.blf.org.uk/breathe-easy to find out more.”
